Rainmakers?

I am beginning to believe that I have a weird power when it comes to weather!  No, I cannot bend it to suit my whims, but somebody (or something!) rejoices when I am rained on. Not the snow, not the heat, not the wind.   RAIN.

When Arnold and I took a train trip through the  western US, we were followed by rain– in September, normally a rather dry month. This was especially true in  locations that normally receive little precipitation.  It rained in San Diego, normally dry in September. Grand Junction, Colorado, which brags about its 250 days of sunshine, rained on the one day we were there.  Nevada, the driest state in the country, gave us a liquid welcome as well.

Now we find ourselves in Chile and yes it is raining – as it did yesterday!  Chile does get rain but not normally in March.   Now I have been reading about rainmakers, people with the power to make the rain fall.  It is a somewhat antiquated word that at one time was used by Native Americans.  Is it possible to be a rainmaker and be unaware of it?  What do y’all think?
