How could anyone write about beautiful places to see in the US without mentioning Hawaii? Beautiful, historical, and you can leave your passport at home! Did you know that there is a part of Hawaii that will make you swear you are in Costa Rica? The east side of the Big Island has dense rainforests with a variety of plant and animal life. With the volcanic landscape and often copious rainfall, the resemblance is quite striking!
So much to do, of course! If you are looking for laid-back luxury you will find it here. The luxury resorts, and hotels are sure to please and the landscape will certainly not disappoint. If you want a bit more activity-well heck go hike a volcano! You can also go snorkeling or relax on the beach. Go whale watching, take a sunset cruise, or a guided tour. You will probably enjoy exploring Pearl Harbor, which is still an active military base as well as the most popular tourist draw in the state.
Flights in June and July are much more reasonable than those around Christmas. Now is an excellent time to start dreaming about the tropics-especially the Hawaiian itineration.
