Let’s say you don’t ski but would nonetheless enjoy a winter vacation . Amazingly (at least for me!) Boston could be what you are looking for! While I really enjoy the city, I have only seen it in the summer. Here are a few suggestions that I may try if I find myself there in January. Take a look-you may see something you like!
INDOOR ACTIVITIES: Do you want to stay warm during your visit? Take a look at one of the following:
Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum – Great Museum that features a 3D reenactment of the tea party as well as a number of interactive experiences. In addition they have a tea room, and of course, a gift shop!
John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum – In addition to President Kennedy’s library, the museum features interactive encounters and exhibits on many aspects of the Kennedy years. These include The Peace Corp, the space program, the Oval Office, and many others.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: In the mood to brave the Boston winter? One of these may be to your liking!
The Boston Common is great to see and it features Frog Pond’s ice skating rink. The skating is great for all skill levels and you can rent skates there as well. After skating, warm up in the Frog Pond Cafe with its menu of coffee, hot chocolate and various snacks.
Take a Winter Wildlife Cruise. Although cruises are generally thought of as warm weather excursions, this is specifically designed for cold weather. Surprisingly, the opportunity to see wildlife is actually better in the winter. This cruise consists of a 3 hour ride around Boston Harbor in a high speed heated ferry!
Snowport – Operating November through February, this is a takeover of the Seaport Central Plaza and offers shopping, food and various events. During the holiday season it features a Christmas Market.
There is so much to experience in Boston in all four seasons! This winter, consider visiting!
Hey guys, it’s pretty decent!
