My husband and I are leaving in a week on a train trip exploring the western half of our country. Our first stop will be in Seattle. We will only be there for two days and will most likely not be able to slip in a trip to the San Juan islands. Too bad as I think as they sound wonderful! They are located off the northern coast of Washington, near the Canadian border.
The easiest way to reach the San Juan Islands is the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. Why not just leave your car in the parking lot? Once you get to the islands, you can rent a bike or use the trolley. So much is available on the islands! On the island of San Juan, make sure to visit Friday Harbor, the only real city in the islands. There are numerous outdoor art galleries, as well as kayaking, and museums. Orcas Island offers quaint villages, pottery studios, swimming and fishing and Mount Constitution. Take a whale watching tour if you get a chance-this is one of the best places in the world for it! Don’t forget Lopez Island, which has vineyards, state parks, as well as a Farmer’s Market and villages with shopping and galleries.
If we get an opportunity to visit next week, I will update this! If you go, please let me know what you think!
Nice answers and everything concerning that
