Wilmington, NC

Wilmington is another city I frequently mention.  For me,  it ties with Asheville as the best city in my state.  The picture, taken by my cousin, shows the Cape Fear River. The adjacent River Walk is one of the most celebrated and dynamic areas of the city. Stroll through it and take in all the wonderful restaurants and shops. Stay in a riverside hotel or one of the historic B&Bs.  Quintessentially southern, with large live oaks covered with Spanish moss, it is full of history. It also has….the ocean!  Numerous beaches ensure that you will be able to find one that feels right to you!
