Ireland – part 3

Sligo is more of an up-and-coming destination.  Tourists are starting to visit it – both for its ancient history and for its place in Irish history and mythology.   The poet Yeats is from here and his memorabilia can be found in the local museum along with paintings and stone age artefacts.   The town is full of monastic settlements and churches and ancient cemeteries. It is one of the richest archaeological sites in Europe.   To me, this town epitomizes the mysticism that Ireland is steeped in.  Specifically, the historical mysticism that makes Ireland such a unique destination
