Jamaica, mon!

Kingston city in Jamaica sunset

The Caribbean island nation of Jamaica is a lush and beautiful land of mountains, rainforests and beaches.  The unique Jamaican vibe has several different roots. There is reggae which you can experience in the Bob Marley and Peter Tosh Museum in Kingston. There is also the renowned cuisine which is loved all over the world.  Do you love jerk chicken?  You may want to visit one of the annual jerk festivals which celebrate the versatility of this cooking method!

Up in the Blue Mountains you will find the most famous coffee in the world. The Blue Mountain Culinary Trail includes restaurants and cafes.  Stop by one and enjoy this coffee along with scenic mountain views.  Tour the coffee farm and make sure you come home with at least one bag!

There are so many activities available – both water and land. There are so many waterfalls in Jamaica. Visit terraced waterfalls to the summit of Dunn;s River Falls.  Glide down a river in a bamboo raft.  Check out a snorkel or scuba tour, take a trip on a glass bottom boat.  If you prefer land exploration, take a scenic hike.  The Blue Mountains have fantastic hiking trails that lead up to stunning vistas and peaks. Jamaica’s caves, many located on the island’s north coast, have tours that show the wonders of these limestone caverns.

My husband considers Jamaica a nearly perfect vacation.  Go check it out for yourself and give yourself some time, there is a lot to discover and experience here!
