Cherry Blossoms!

Sun rising illuminates the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin. The bright pink cherry blossoms frame the monument in Washington DC during the annual cherry blossom festival

It is nearly that time, folks!  If you have never seen cherry blossom season in Washington DC, it is definitely time to do so!  DC’s Tidal Basin is full of beautiful blooming trees reflecting in the water.  It is breath-taking!  For those of us on the East Coast it is close enough that we really don’t have an excuse for not seeing it at least once.  This year the peak blooming season is estimated to be 3/28 – 3/30 it is definitely  time to get those plans made!  Hotel rooms, as well as tours and cultural activities are filling up.  DC tends to have heavy traffic so rely on  their excellent public transportation to minimize road rage..G    There are two major airports, Washington Dulles and Ronald Reagan.  You can also use nearby Baltimore.

If you want to turn Cherry Blossom season into a big event, there are also celebrations in Vancouver, Japan and Seoul, South Korea. Regardless of where you choose to celebrate, somewhere between three and five days usually works well.

Celebrate Spring!
