Vacationing in Latin America is second in popularity after Europe -at least for Americans. Visitation continues to increase-my husband and I love it. Brazil, the largest country in South America, is the most visited by American citizens. Argentina is arguably second in line. Iguazu Falls is surrounded by the World Heritage Site, Iguzau National Park. In addition to the falls, this park is a verdant tropical jungle with over 2,000 species of plant life and a variety of wildlife including tapirs, ocelots and jaguars. Spend a bit of time here and then head for the falls! You will enjoy both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. If you have the time you could visit both! Each side has a different experience. Argentina has many trails and catwalks above and beside the falls. Brazil’s trails are shorter with panoramic views. Brazil also has an elevator at the bottom!
Regardless of the country you visit, the Devil’s Throat is a must-see site. Walk along its trail to experience the most dramatic section of the falls.It receives around half of the river’s flow and drops 270 feet! It is located on the border of the two countries.
