Did you grow up spending summers at the beach? I did. Nearly everyone enjoys the ocean, sun and sand and all the other beach amenities! The relaxed vibe and slower pace help create that laid back, easygoing vacation that we all love! Is there a special beach that you return to time after time? If so, what is it about it that draws you back? Let’s take a look at four that may be new to you but will not fail to please!
South Carolina – Charleston, Hilton Head, Kiawah Island. Take your pick, you will enjoy each of them! Charleston,of course, is a beautiful anti-bellum town full of history and diversions. Hilton Head is a well known resort with an emphasis on golf. Wonderful beaches with bike trails, golf and so much more.
The Bahamas – Why not? It is close by – a quick jump from Florida and you will find yourself gazing at that beautiful turquoise water. How can you beat the powdery beaches and coral reefs? Go island hopping or just relax and let the world roll by!
Bermuda – Yep the sand is pink and the architecture pastel! Golf of course – enough to keep you occupied and happy! The climate is mild and the wind gentle. If you visit between mid November and early March it is less crowded and much less expensive. Don’t miss this island whose cultural heritage includes British, African, Caribbean and Portuguese influences. There are also three day cruises you might enjoy.
Sea Island, Georgia – Located on the southern coast near the Florida border, this is a luxurious, expensive private island available only to Sea Island club members and guests. There is a private beach along with bike paths, wildlife programs , sunset walks, and upscale, gourmet dining. If you are looking for a splurge, check it out!
