What Is It Like to Visit an All-Inclusive Resort?

It has been awhile since I have written about All-Inclusive Resorts.  Yep, they are the definition of careless relaxation!  While located everywhere, the majority are in Mexico and the Caribbean, with an occasional one in Europe.  While there are few in the US, Bungalows is one you should check if you are looking for a rich and luxurious experience

First things first! Since everything is arranged in advance, you will generally be picked up at the airport by a company known and trusted by the resort. Once you arrive at the hotel, the driver will unload your luggage.  The resort staff will be waiting at the entrance to take your bags to your room and offer a cool drink.

The guest rooms at resorts can vary quite a bit.  This variance will depend on price range, destination and resort brand. You can find anything from overwater bungalows and gigantic suites down to simple yet comfortable rooms. Some rooms may have plunge pools and bars.

Now what? The main attractions are usually the beaches and the pools.  Languish beside the pool and enjoy a cocktail.  Alternately, hop in the pool and swim to the pool bar.  Go to the beach and play in the ocean surf.  When you want a break, remember that resorts have other diversions such as spas, fitness classes, live shows and music!

Getting Hungry? Similar to cruise ships, everything you eat and drink is included.  There are multiple restaurants buffets, and a good selection of cuisines, including French, Caribbean and more.  You will definitely enjoy checking out the selection.  Remember though that if you wish to eat at a specialty restaurant you should make reservations!

The Dominican Republican has a good selection of these resorts.  Other popular resorts can be found here and here.
