Santa Fe5

I wrote about Santa Fe a year ago – this is the encore!  Those of us from the east coast, especially the southeast, are used to thinking what a beautiful place we live in… and we do!  Santa Fe is just as beautiful but in a totally different way.  No live oaks or moss in this city.  It is turquoise and earth colors baby!  Reds, oranges and Georgia O’keeffe in the museum!  There are lots of markets to browse and shops to explore!

This city is full of art galleries and museums.  O’keeffe, of course, but they also celebrate native art.  One of the very best is the Museum of Contemporary Native ArtCanyon Road is alive with the work of local artists.  Stop at New Mexico Museum of Art  for a photo with the adobe!  You can also just wander around (wear good walking shoes!) and take in the atmosphere.  Guided tours are also available.  In the mood for a short car ride?  Go visit Taos.

When it comes to hot air balloons, folks generally think of Albuquerque.  Santa Fe also has them – all year around!  One of the unique experiences you may enjoy is the Santa Fe Scenic Train.  If you love trains the way I do please check it out.  New Mexico’s beautiful landscape is featured on this 3 hour ride.  They also have the Sunset Serenade and you can watch the sunset in the desert.

After a day filled with adventure and activity, sample the fantastic food.  “Do you want red or green chili with that?”  They are both fantastic!
