Atlanta to Santiago

We flew into Atlanta on Thursday 3/18 with a bit of trepidation.  The news was rife with warnings of cancelled flights in Atlanta.  Fortunately, our 3.5 layover was uneventful – we spent our time talking about our upcoming trip and watching the clock!   We slept  (sorta!) on the 6.5 hour trip to Lima, landing in an airport with a surprising amount of activity for 5am.  We found a place to plop down with the other sleepy travelers and waited for our flight to Santiago.

We eventually arrived in Santiago, went through customs, and eventually found the Holland representatives who drove us to our hotel.  Our initial impression of the city was that it was larger and busier than we remember from our last trip -it was over  25 years ago however!   Dinner and sleep first, however!

We are looking forward to the Andes excursion we have planned for tomorrow!  Stay tuned!
