| Eastern Europe is having a moment so let’s move beyond Croatia (as wonderful as it is), and take a look at Slovenia, formerly a part of Yugoslavia.Half the size of Switzerland, this tiny, mountainous country is located where the Alps meet the Adriatic. These “Julian Alps” are rugged with glacial bowls and dense forests. It is both remote and quiet, unlike many other places in the Alps. Come for the biodiversity, many plants are not found elsewhere; stay for the beauty and the welcoming people! The cities are small, the country stunning and filled with thermal spas, ski resorts, waterfalls, caves. The cuisine is wonderful and filling-exactly what you will want after a day of hiking and other outdoor activities.Come now while it is still off the beaten path-ENJOY! |

Hi Barbara, We are both excited about going to Eastern Europe. We would like to see any country there. Slovenia sounds interesting with mountains and beautiful countryside. This sounds like a good summer trip!
