Our National Parks are arguably the best US vacations for everyone–singles, couples and families.  There are so many choices each with its own distinctive features.  They are located all around the country. Some are only open for one season, others are open all year around.  What are you looking for?  If you are looking for the unusual you might enjoy Mammoth Cave National Park.

While not the first park that comes to mind it is one of the most unique.  In addition to being part of the US Park System, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in southern Kentucky, it is best known as the home of the largest cave system in the world.  Plenty of underground passageways to explore.  These passages are full of both flora and fauna, many of which are endangered.  There are over 130 species here, some who only exist in this location.

As awe-inspiring as they are, the caves are not the only attraction here.  The park’s features include river valleys and rolling hills with more than 80 miles of trails. You can kayak on the Nolins and Green Rivers.  At the end of the day stay at one of the 13 backcountry campsites.  Take a look at the multi-purpose outdoor amphitheater.  Hey, you can be married there!  Looking for a quaint location to exchange vows?  It might be just what you are looking for!
