There was a time that luxury travel was easy to define: A 5 star hotel or a resort with an endless amount of amenities. That is still important for some travelers but as time passes the term has expanded a bit. One hallmark has remained a constant, however. Luxury travelers expect their needs and desires to be anticipated and seamlessly delivered.
For some this remains the five star hotel. Others want individual and personal experiences that may include:
Location – Exotic locations that are unique and basically undiscovered by the majority of travelers.
Privacy and Space – Peaceful surroundings are often important. Wellness is often important to these travelers. Wellness destinations are often located in the exotic locations mentioned above.
Small Ship Cruising – An emphasis on intimate experiences and settings on smaller vessels
Celebrations – Prioritizing travel with family and friends whether that includes pampering or roughing it.
Luxury travel always has and will continue to be about the singular experience, the road less traveled, and the unique. It will continue to be expensive because it is based on individual rather than group desires.
