Group Travel? You Bet!

Group Travel is having a moment!  While  family, friends, and interest groups have always traveled together, it has now exploded into a major trend.  If you are interested in arranging travel for your group, try to organize it around a particular concept, theme, or motif and it will help simplify the process.  Here are two that are nearly always reliable!

The Beach – In my part of the US, beach trips are ubiquitous.  Beaches are the first location mentioned when considering travel for family and friends. Nearly everyone enjoys the sand and surf -always an opportunity to relax and enjoy!  The pounding of the waves on the shore can be hypnotic.  Exhale and allow them to soothe you.  When you are ready to be more active, saunter downtown to explore.  Great beaches are everywhere in the US.  Check out my take on Wrightsville Beach!   Want to pull out your passport?  Try one of these islandsSouth Caicos is another option. For a wonderful island option outside of the Hurricane zone, visit beautiful Aruba!

Wellness –  Enormously popular and continuing to experience significant growth, wellness retreats entice people from all walks of life!  These retreats feature all aspects of wellness, everything from luxurious spas to nature immersions, spiritual experiences, and fitness.  In the US, the city of Sedona, Arizona has a reputation as a center of holistic healing; you can find your niche there

If you have extra time on your hands, head to the Himalayan foothills!  Rishikesh, located in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Ganges River, is the yoga capital of the world!  There are Ayurvedic spas for relaxation and natural treatments for both body and mind.  Rafting, hiking and the shared experiences at spiritual centers and retreats make this  perfect for group travel!

There are many other travel themes of course!  Cultural and artistic as well the historical and educational.  Think Santa Fe, a perfect location for group travel, or Washington DC.  Wherever you end up, traveling with a group assures you will be with friends–and that makes all the difference!
