Aruba, nicknamed the “one happy island” is the A in the ABC Islands. It is also a wonderful destination for couples or families. With a fantastic climate (80’s all year!) and 12 month availability (located OUTSIDE of the Caribbean Hurricane Zone) you can plan your vacation anytime! There are numerous direct flights from the US and the prices are currently quite good! There are also reasonably priced hotels.
The beaches are the main draw,of course, and with good reason. Outside of the resorts, they are open to all and generally easy to reach. Eagle Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean,with its white sand and turquoise water. Water sports reign here-windsurfing, kite surfing, scuba, snorkeling through shipwrecks and reefs. Just relaxing on the shore is worthwhile in itself! Heck, you’re on vacation!
If you are interested in exploring beyond the beach, think about a visit to Arikok National Park, where the beaches give way to limestone cliffs, deserts and cacti. It is also home to the Fontein Caves and the Natural Pool-both of which you will want to explore. Aruba is also rumored to be a real foodie destination. This is a great time to plan that late summer or autumn vacation!
