Austin, Texas

AustinMusicScene

Despite all the time I spent watching Austin City Limits on PBS, I have only been to the city once – for a business trip back in my Corporate Road Warrior days.    Outside of conference rooms and the hotel, I saw very little of the city.  I hope to rectify that sometime in the near future!

Music, it is all about the music!  Every season is packed with festivals, primarily(though not exclusively) music.  The Austin Blues Festival, the Reggae Festival, SXSW and dozens more in the Spring.   Summer arrives with more music-Wilile Nelson’s 4th of July is a notable one.  Autumn continues the pattern.  The first week in January  you can find hundreds of Austin bands participating in an annual event at multiple venues throughout the Red River Cultural District.

This is a city for music lovers and it starts with music in the airport!   The city is alive with a catchy upbeat vibe and there are also hiking trails, great food, and  line dancing.  We are talking energy, folks!   I can’t wait to get back to it for an encore performance. Stay tuned!
