In my experience, walking around a city is often the best way to really get to know it. You can take your time, explore any nooks or crannies that show up, and really get a feel for it. European cities tend to be especially pedestrian friendly. In my previous posts on Amsterdam, I explained how well that worked for us. Let’s take a look at another great city you’ll want to travel by foot!
Insider Monkey, a finance website, has named Florence, Italy the “most walkable city in the world. If you have been to Florence, you have most likely noticed how close together (within a half mile) its tourist sites – Ponte Vecchio, Piazzo del Duomo, Uffizi Gallery and others are. When you combine that with its pleasant weather and the historical charm of its streets, you’ll be pulling on those shoes and heading outside!
Pack a couple of study pairs of walkers when heading to Italy, folks. You’ll be glad you did!
