Remember all those rushed trips you have taken in the past? You know the ones- balancing the needs of your kids and perhaps a demanding job? Most of us want to connect with our destinations in ways that are authentic and comfortable but instead spend our time rushing from place to place. At the end of the day we crash in our hotel room, feeling both stressed and irritable. Enter the world of SLOW TRAVEL and regain the flexibility to enjoy yourselves! There are multiple ways to do this and while they will differ from person to person, here are a few suggestions that might be helpful
STOP OVER-BOOKING! Absolutely the worst as it is a virtual guarantee that you will end the day tired and crabby! Work in a little spontaneity – spur of the moment decisions can be incredibly freeing. You just have to give yourself permission to do so.
WELLNESS means different things to different people. What helps you feel relaxed and cared for? Some possibilities could be getting a massage, relaxing in a pool or lake, or yoga. Hell, take a nap or enjoy the simplicity and beauty of your location!
THE OUTDOORS – It feels good to move, and exploring your surroundings can be invigorating or relaxing–whichever you choose! Go kayaking, take a bicycle or a walk on an outdoor trail. Take your time and resist the pressure to jump quickly from one activity to the next.
Overall, SLOW THE PACE! Stonehenge is not planning a move!
