Las Vegas

I’ve talked about Las Vegas here before and how it is so much more than gambling to the wee hours of the morning.  In fact, it can be a family trip that doesn’t even have to include slots or blackjack (although it can!)  Within an hour’s drive from Vegas, there are many great sites that just beg for exploration.  This includes Lake Mead and Hoover Dam that offer swimming and boating – a real kid pleaser.  Valley of Fire State Park has red stone outcroppings, many featuring ancient petroglyphs.  You can ride horses and kayak at Red Rock Canyon and Emerald Cove.  Seven Magic Mountains, with its colorful exhibits, is a MUST visit.
